Computer Lab Tues 5/1 and Thurs 5/10
Students will create a resume for a particular job. Each student will be a migratory animal and must include the following information:
- Habitat
- Food
- Predators
- Qualifications with explanations
- A plan for employer to adjust to the migration
Example: Manatee= Wal-Mart greeter; I may move slow, but I am friendly to everyone. I keep my habitat clean by………..

Thursday 3/29 Computer Lab
- Go to: cosmos4kids.com
- Read each of the sections: universe, galaxies, stars, solar system, exploration
- Take Notes on important ideas so that you may use those notes on the quizzes.
- Take the top two quizzes solar system and astronomy. They are 10 questions each. Add the total that you get correct and multiply by 5 for your grade. Show me your grade so that I may write it down in the grade book.
Thursday’s Computer Lab Activity DUE AT THE END OF CLASS 3/29
Students will write a short story using the vocabulary words from 8.8 A,B,C. This is a test grade. The short story must have:
- at least 8 vocabulary words (they are in bold in the packet) used correctly
- at least 300 words
- correct spelling and sentence structure

Monday-Wednesday 3/5-3/7 Students will watch a NASA video online and we will discuss the TEK 8.7C. Vocabulary includes: tides, ocean currents, moon phases, salinity, density, speed, and natural seepage. Notes, discussion, hypothesis analysis, and conclusion are the main activities.
Thurs 3/8 Computer Lab: NASA relating Newton’s laws and energy transformations
Fri 3/9 Movie: Human Footprints by National Geographic- “Preserve Our Planet”

Mon 2/27 Students will finish notes on Moon Phases 8.7B. Review for Test over 8.7 A&B
Tues 2/28 Test 8.7 A & B
Wed 2/29 Labs: To introduce 8.7 C relate the position of the Moon and Sun to their effect on ocean tides, Students will have a lab cycle (4 labs) dealing with gravity and pull
Thurs 3/1 Computer Lab: 8.7 C and 8.8A describe components of the universe, including stars, nebulae, and galaxies, and use models such as the Herztsprung-Russell diagram for classification
Fri 3/2 Students will present power points about “Seasons and Moon Phases” on their Google Docs
